Sara Crall
Sara Crall was born in Ohio and attended Ohio University where she received a Bachelor of Fine Art in sculpture. After graduating, she moved to Florida to pursue work as a commercial artist. After two years in Orlando, she decided to move to Maine where she could pursue her art fulltime. While her work had always investigated spacial relationships, she spent the next eleven years developing an aesthetic all her own. She started to call on architectural elements to further push the feeling of distance and time. Her artwork has also felt the influence of her work as a scenic artist.
Working in the film industry requires a lot of travel which affords her the opportunity to witness a variety of people and places and this constant exploration is reflected in her work. Her current body of work is an effort to record all of these different places and spaces. All of the images in her work are documented from her life and she combines them in the studio.
